i’ve read the fountainhead. you could say it made me change my mind about her in the sense that it made me appreciate what a truly horrendous writer she is on top of my dislike of her philosophy. 

See, that’s a decent answer. 

Not a decent answer: “Er, I read one chapter of Atlas Shrugged and gave up. BUT ANYWAY FUCK AYN RAND”

eh, i think it’s fair enough to have opinions about someone like ayn rand without having read their prose. it would be different if she were someone who was known (and both admired and abhorred) primarily for her prose as opposed to her ideas/philosophy/politics/influence/etc. we’re not talking jk rowling here, you know? 

that said, i do believe in knowing as much as possible about that which one yells about on the internet (not that i personally do a lot of yelling about ayn rand specifically) so i’ll probably get round to atlas shrugged eventually.
